SENDING Post TO OFFENDERS
The N.C. Department of Public Safety has changed the way offenders receive mail. To help go on contraband out of prisons, all mail to offenders must exist sent through a private company, TextBehind.

All Prison facilities encourage family unit and friends to write to offenders. For security reasons, all incoming mail is checked to see if information technology contains any illegal or unauthorized items. Approachable mail from offenders may also exist checked.

Incoming post from lawyers, any legal aid service assisting offenders, or land and federal court officials must be opened in the presence of the offender before information technology is checked for illegal or unauthorized items.

OVERVIEW
Anson Correctional Institution houses female offenders in close and medium custody in the former Lanesboro Correctional Institution, which housed male close and medium custody offenders.
